At CalStar Unlimited, we’re always looking for talented people to join our team, whether at our main office in Santa Cruz or as one of our field investigators throughout the West Coast.


What are we looking for in an employee? Here are a few things to start:


Background: We’re interested in talking with experienced professionals, but we are always ready and willing to train entry level candidates with the right mindset and a desire to learn. There’s no standard background either – our staff members have backgrounds in insurance, law enforcement, journalism, security, education, legal fields, and many others. In fact, this diversity in backgrounds is one of our strengths! 

Mindset: What makes a good investigator? Above all, it’s the ability to think critically, to analyze a situation from numerous vantage points, and to come up with creative methods to solve the problem. If your idea of an investigation is to check boxes and go through the motions, this is not the place for you.

Integrity: Every role at CalStar Unlimited, from the field investigators to the administrative support staff, plays an integral part in delivering high-caliber results to our clients. To make sure this chain does not have any weak links, we look for self-starters who can work independently to pull their weight while also being respectful of others who are doing the same.
